This configuration provides the minimum requirements to launch the software and explore product features.
You can explore the main components of the SmartMEDIA platform on any computer capable of running a virtual machine or hardware server with the following specifications:
- RAM: 8 GB
- Free disk space: At least 50 GB
- Storage space: At least 5 GB per hour per channel for recording
Production-like testing environment
This configuration approximates a production operator environment for testing purposes. Use this setup to evaluate the software under realistic operating conditions.
The configurations below do not include redundancy.

Storage capacity calculation: Storage capacity depends on the number of channels with NPVR and is calculated as 5 GB per channel per hour. In production environments, calculate all recording profile bitrates to determine accurate storage parameters.
Hardware compatibility: Hardware must be compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS version 7 x86_64.
Recommended server models: HP ProLiant DL360/380 series or equivalent models from other vendors such as Supermicro.
